THE BRIEF HISTORY OF LANCASHIRE
In 1796, a boy, playing on the bank of the river Ribble,found, among other things,a fine bronze ceremonial helmet, elaborately decorated and one of the fines examples of its type anywhere in the world. It is housed with the Ribchester hoard in the Romano British section of the British Museum and is, in my opinion, the finest exhibit in that part of the gallery. It is probably of Asturian origin.
There is a tombstone in Ribchester Museum recording the death of an Asturian soldier.
En 1796, un niño, jugando en la orilla del río Ribble, encontró, entre otras cosas, un bello casco ceremonial de bronce, elaboradamente decorado y uno de los ejemplos mas finos de este tipo en cualquier parte del mundo. Está ubicado con el tesoro Ribchester en la sección Británica Romana del Museo Británico y es, en mi opinión, la mejor exposición en esa parte de la galería. Es probablemente de origen asturiano.
Hay una lápida en el Museo de Ribchester que registra la muerte de un soldado asturiano.
